This is interesting and informative and I enjoyed reading it. Definitely gave me some insight into his work that I appreciate. Johns has always been just to the side of my focus through the years, but after reading your article, I’d like to learn more. Is there a particularly good bio and/or overview of his work you’d recommend? Thanks!

Thank you so much. I am glad you enjoyed this and that it has encouraged you to learn more about Johns. I found reading John Yau's essays and reviews on https://hyperallergic.com/ to be very enlightening (just search Jasper Johns on their website). Though I haven't read it, several writers referred to "Jasper Johns: A Retrospective" by Roberta Bernstein, et al. That's probably where I would start. Thanks for your comment.
