Thanks for posting this. I was not familiar with William H. Johnson's art. I'm interested in exploring his work.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you can't make it to Dayton to see the current exhibition, looking at the Smithsonian American Art Museum's website is a great way to get started. They have examples from throughout his career. His "Harlem Street Scene with Full Moon" from 1929-1930 is one of my favorites. https://americanart.si.edu/artwork/harlem-street-scene-full-moon-12138

This is a great post of William H. Johnson's work. I was awed by paintings. I will try to get to the Smithsonian to see these works. Thank you.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it. At the moment, the "Fighters for Freedom" are being exhibited at the Dayton Art Institute in Ohio, but SAAM has so many works by Johnson, there are sure to be some to see. Thank you for your comment.
