Well, as my outing planned to see the Pat Adams exhibit today was foiled by bad weather, I’m particularly pleased to see this new post from you today. There is a work of Dubuffet’s that I used to pass by quite often when I worked in downtown Manhattan, called Group of Four Trees. I’d forgotten all about it until I saw your post. I always liked passing by it, but never got round to learning anything further, so have an extra reason to thank you here. It is remarkable how much he was able to extract from such a small set of variables. I enjoyed, also, learning of the Art Brut/Outsider Art connection. Now that I am aware of it, it makes so much sense in viewing his work.
I'm sorry the weather ruined your plans. I fear many others were in a similar boat in the Northeast today. I'm glad you were reminded of a past art experience; I enjoy that feeling too. Dubuffet is a fascinating artist whose work I didn't really appreciate enough until I did the research for this piece.
I have to give him lots of credit for effort
Knowing you, I think you'd probably find it more interesting to visit than looking at it in pictures.
I think you are correct, but then most of the time you are 😜
